Job Summary
Responsible for collecting, packaging, and labeling hazardous waste, as well as maintaining accurate records and complying with regulatory guidelines. Also operates and maintains waste handling equipment, conducts inspections, and follows safety protocols to minimize risks related to hazardous materials. Includes participation in waste reduction and recycling initiatives, routine inspections of waste storage areas, spill response equipment, and safety showers/eyewash stations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Hazardous Waste/Biohazard Experience 1-2 years required
- Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations (RCRA)
- Knowledge of spill response procedures and containment techniques
- Ability to use and maintain PPE and safety equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to lift/carry/move heavy containers or equipment (35lbs+)
