Job Summary
Conduct cleaning and sanitizing services for patient rooms, offices, clinics, clinical areas, and public spaces at IU Health University Hospital. Apply disinfection protocols and utilize approved tools to support patient safety in high-acuity areas including the OR, ED, and NICU. Remove hazardous and biohazardous waste in compliance with safety regulations while collaborating with clinical teams to ensure care flow. Operate light floor equipment, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks involving lifting up to 80 lbs. Work 8–10-hour shifts from 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, wearing required protective equipment. Eligible for shift pay differentials; no prior experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
- Must be able to reach, stand for long periods of time, squat, bend, carry and/or lift supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.
- Requires the ability to operate light floor equipment for cleaning floors in patient care areas.
- Requires the ability to climb ladders.
- Requires the ability to clean areas that require technical cleaning including IR/Cardiac Cath/Mother-Baby/NICU/OR/ED.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
