Job Summary
Conduct daily cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, and vacuuming according to departmental policy. Empties hampers, transports soiled linen, removes trash, and manages medical waste containers including sharps. Inventory and restock supplies such as toilet tissue and hand soap in all assigned areas. Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment, log usage, and notify personnel of necessary repairs. Respond to patient, staff, and visitor requests while meeting customer service satisfaction goals. Perform special projects like window washing or removing heavily soiled items as needed. Work full-time, days, 40 hours per week from 7:00am to 3:30pm with varied shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally
- Read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- Able to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques
- Additional related education and/or experience
