Job Summary
Provide a sanitary and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by performing cleaning and service tasks with minimal inconvenience. Select cleaning materials and supplies, load service carts, prepare equipment, and mix cleaning solutions. Execute general cleaning tasks instructed by a supervisor on a daily basis. High School Diploma or equivalent required; knowledge of various cleaning solutions and application methods necessary. Experience with housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, wet/dry pickups, and automatic scrubbers preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills required. This role supports St. John's Riverside Hospital's mission of compassionate care within the Westchester community.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of use of various cleaning solutions and when and how to apply
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in housekeeping related equipment (e.g., vacuums, wet/dry pickups, automatic scrubbers, burnishers, buffing machines, wall washing equipment, shampoo equipment, etc.)
