Job Summary
Maintain optimum cleanliness and disinfection in patient care, ancillary, and public areas by dust mopping, damp mopping spills, spot washing walls, and complete cleaning of patient rooms, bathrooms, and examination rooms. Operate cleaning equipment, move heavy objects like beds and desks, and properly dispose of medical and regular waste. Escort patients to and from units, assist with lifting, and transport deceased patients to the morgue while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Transport patients via wheelchairs or stretchers, keeping equipment clean and in good repair. Maintain records of assignments and adhere to departmental policies, infection control standards, and the Code of Conduct. Perform mandatory educational programs and uphold customer service expectations. Requires Heart Saver Certification; full-time day shift with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
- Must possess and maintain Heart Saver Certification.
- Must possess and maintain Heart Saver Certification.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Must be able to lift, position, push and/or transfer patients.
- Must be able to push, pull or move heavy equipment/supplies.
- Must be able to reach, stoop, bend, kneel and/or crouch.
- Must have manual dexterity and mobility.
- Must be able to perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization.
Desired Qualifications
- Housekeeping experience a plus but not required.
- Minimum of 1 year previous patient care experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
