Job Summary

Maintain hospital facility cleanliness through scouring, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, and disinfecting all assigned areas including patient rooms, bathrooms, clinical spaces, and public restrooms. Handle and transport trash and soiled linen safely while managing hazardous waste in accordance with Infection Control Policies. Monitor housekeeping supplies, prepare requisition forms, and report equipment malfunctions to the Supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in new personnel orientation and maintaining professional behavior with patients, staff, and visitors.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • 1-3 years related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing
  • Basic knowledge of a variety of cleaning techniques performed in a commercial setting
  • Basic knowledge of commercial housekeeping equipment and its usage
  • Basic Mathematical concepts for proper measuring of cleaning agents

  • Ability to read and understand Operation Manuals, Policy Procedure Manuals, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Manual, and other departmental manuals
