Job Summary
Wash and dry residents' clothing and linens, ensuring items are returned fresh and in good condition. Disinfect and clean to support infection control, while cleaning residents' rooms and common areas including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and bathrooms. Adhere to WHMIS guidelines and safe handling procedures for all cleaning products, and maintain a safe environment by following Health & Safety Standards. Operate commercial laundry and cleaning equipment such as washers, dryers, and auto-scrubbers. Work as part of a supportive team, assisting coworkers and covering shifts as needed across days, evenings, weekends, and last-minute call-ins. This role is a casual position within S&R Group's Long Term Care facilities, where we prioritize promoting from within and support educational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in housekeeping and laundry (healthcare or hospitality setting an asset)
- Ability to operate commercial laundry and cleaning equipment (washer, dryer, auto-scrubber, vacuum, etc.)
- Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
- TB 2 Step updated within the last year
