Job Summary
Oversee and lead both Food & Nutrition Services and Environmental Services (Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance) departments to ensure high-quality, resident-centered care. Conduct and review Resident Nutritional Assessments, including MDS and RAPs, while implementing care plans and managing food service budgets, inventory, and purchasing. Supervise staff for hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management across both departments. Develop preventative maintenance schedules, complete work orders, and ensure compliance with food safety, public health, and regulatory standards including WHMIS and OH&S. Act as an integral member of the leadership team for site-wide decision-making related to resident care and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Food and Nutrition Management from a recognized program
- active membership with Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or Registered Dietitian designation
- Post-secondary education in Building Services Supervision or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory/management experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting
- Sound knowledge of Long-Term Care Act
- Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Sound knowledge of WHMIS
- Sound knowledge of infection prevention protocols
- Proficient computer and clinical documentation skills
- Strong knowledge of basic therapeutic nutrition and dietary regulations for long-term care
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Effective time management with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
