Job Summary
Provide technical assistance with ESA Section 7 consultations, NEPA document preparation, and support for marine mammal and sea turtle stranding/disentanglement programs. Responsibilities include developing and reviewing biological assessments and consultation documents, coordinating with NMFS and GARFO teams, conducting literature reviews, preparing white papers, organizing stakeholder engagement, and supporting recovery and conservation planning for right whale and other protected species. The role involves data management, reporting, and ensuring compliance across program areas, with a base-year contract and remote work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a degree (i.e., bachelors or masters) in an environmental science or associated discipline (e.g., biology, ecology, fisheries biology, marine biology, natural resource management, conservation biology, landscape ecology, or restoration ecology). A relevant degree may be substituted by two additional years of relevant experience.
