Job Summary
Perform environmental monitoring and sampling of groundwater and soil media. Conduct light non-aqueous phase liquid and hydrogeologic field investigations. Operate and troubleshoot equipment for environmental remediation systems. Collect site data, provide documentation, and prepare written reports. Oversee contractor construction and drilling projects while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams on system optimization. Execute field investigations and initiatives in the Midwest US, working independently in outdoor conditions. This Associate Scientist role expands expertise into contaminant fate, remediation strategy, and risk assessment within Parsons' Critical Infrastructure team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a science curriculum related to the assigned discipline
- 0+ years of related work experience
- Strong verbal and written communication including technical writing ability
- Data formatting, summarization, and visualization
- Understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to work independently, outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions, typical of Midwest US
- Fit for Duty exam
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in an environmental field
- Prior experience with low-flow groundwater sampling methods
- Current OSHA HAZWOPER certification
