Job Summary
Conduct field wetland and stream delineations per USACE and PADEP policies, preparing data forms and aquatic resource reports. Draft PADEP Chapter 105 and USACE Section 404 permit applications, evaluate PennDOT compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and maintain current knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations. Perform additional responsibilities as needed while traveling to support project needs and field activities. Requires a B.S. degree, five years of environmental experience, and independent field delineation skills. Valid driver's license and proficiency with GPS equipment and mapping software are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressively responsible environmental experience related to the essential job functions
- B.S. Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or related field
- Independent field wetland/stream delineation experience
- Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions and in challenging terrain
- Experience in preparing PADEP Chapter 105 and USACE Section 404 permit applications and related documents
- Working knowledge of applicable federal/state regulations pertaining to aquatic resources and threatened/endangered species
- Prior experience with sub-meter GPS equipment, including post-field data processing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, time management, and technical writing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, clients, regulatory staff, and other stakeholders in a professional manner
- Ability to prepare accurate technical work products with minimal errors
- Travel as required to support project needs and field activities
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with Civil 3D/AutoCAD/ArcGIS
- Experience with Microstation
- Prior experience with National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 compliance
- Prior experience with PennDOT's CE Expert and KEES systems
