Job Summary
Conduct and oversee site inspections, assessments, investigations, and cleanups in accordance with state and federal regulatory guidelines. Work with environmental technicians on data collection, site evaluation, and preparation of project documentation while providing field support as needed. Prepare technical evaluations using CERCLA/RCRA guidelines, review environmental permits and plans to ensure compliance, and create data visualizations summarizing environmental relevance. Determine data collection methods for site surveys and actively participate in creating a positive team environment. Support project planning, RFP responses, and junior staff while maintaining a proactive safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in physical or environmental science
- Five to ten years of experience working on environmental projects
- A broad understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Valid state driver's license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company's Driving Policy
- Ability to pass drug and background screening
- Knowledge of the practical application of environmental engineering science and technology
- Knowledge and understanding of CERCLA/RCRA, NPDES, CWA, OPPA, CAA, and other applicable laws, legal codes, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules governing environmental projects and programs
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Ability to use analytical skills alongside scientific rules and methods to solve problems and apply logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Basic computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs
- Effective oral and technical written communication skills
- Ability to present information in front of a group

- Must be able to work with environmental technicians and other technical staff in data collection, site inspection/investigation, and evaluation of data collected
- Must be able to prepare technical evaluations of investigated sites using CERCLA/RCRA guidelines
- Must be able to provide scientific and technical guidance, support, coordination, and oversight to project staff
- Must be able to review and document the processes necessary to obtain, develop and/or update environmental permits, plans, reports, licenses, and other requirements
- Must be able to ensure proposals meet all appropriate requirements
- Must be able to prepare charts or graphs from data samples
- Must be able to determine data collection methods to be employed in site surveys and investigations
- Must be able to actively participate in creating a positive team environment
- Must be able to support project planning and RFP responses

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in federal government projects
- Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response training with current 8-hour refresher
- Experience with Health and Safety functions
