Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •Bachelor's degree in physical or environmental science
• •Five to ten years of experience working on environmental projects
• •A broad understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
• •Valid state driver's license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company's Driving Policy
• •Ability to pass drug and background screening
• •Knowledge of the practical application of environmental engineering science and technology
• •Knowledge and understanding of CERCLA/RCRA, NPDES, CWA, OPPA, CAA, and other applicable laws, legal codes, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules governing environmental projects and programs
• •Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
• •Ability to use analytical skills alongside scientific rules and methods to solve problems and apply logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• •Basic computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite
• •Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs
• •Effective oral and technical written communication skills

• •Must be able to provide field support as needed including field site supervision
• •Must be able to conduct and oversee site inspections, assessments, investigations, and cleanups in accordance with state and federal regulatory guidelines
• •Must be able to work with environmental technicians and other technical staff in data collection, site inspection/investigation, and evaluation of data collected
• •Must be able to prepare technical evaluations of investigated sites using CERCLA/RCRA guidelines
• •Must be able to provide scientific and technical guidance, support, coordination, and oversight to project staff
• •Must be able to review and document the processes necessary to obtain, develop and/or update environmental permits, plans, reports, licenses, and other requirements
• •Must be able to review and provide documentation on environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations
• •Must be able to prepare charts or graphs from data samples
• •Must be able to determine data collection methods to be employed in site surveys and investigations
• •Must be able to actively participate in creating a positive team environment
• •Must be able to support project planning and RFP responses
• •Must be able to solve challenges for Clients
• •Must be able to manage company resources to ensure proper deliverables
• •Must be able to support junior Environmental Scientist staff
• •Must be able to actively participate in a proactive safety culture

• •Ability to effectively and clearly communicate complex information to others
• •Ability to present information in front of a group

Desired Qualifications

• •Experience in federal government projects is highly desired
• •Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response training with current 8-hour refresher preferred
• •Experience with Health and Safety functions a plus
