Job Summary
Environmental Scientist / Geologist / Engineer role in LaBella's Brooklyn, NY office. Responsibilities include field sampling (groundwater, soil, soil vapor, surface water), managing field and lab data, supervising contractors and drillers, assisting with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, supporting investigations and remediation at Brownfield sites (VCP/BCP/CERCLA) around NYC, and preparing deliverables within timelines and budgets. The position involves a mix of field and office work, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, data analysis, map creation, report preparation, and maintaining project documentation while upholding QA/QC standards. Requires a B.S. in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering, OSHA HAZWOPER (40 hr), AutoCAD/ArcGIS experience, strong communication, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset. Prefer M.S. but not required; physical ability for outdoor field work and a valid NYS driver’s license is expected. Salary range: $50,000–$72,000 with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for career growth.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering
- 0–3 years of experience in environmental consulting, environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related local environmental position
- 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
- Experience with AutoCAD and / or ArcGIS
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Team oriented with ability to motivate others
- Self-starter
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environmental consulting team environment
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplined group of professionals
- NYC E-designations, brownfield sites knowledge including VCP and BCP as well as CERCLA in some capacity
- Valid NYS driver's license, lean driving record, and reliable transportation
