Job Summary
Environmental Scientist - Contaminated Land based in Newcastle or Sydney, Australia, hybrid remote option. The role involves a mix of field and office work, including Preliminary Site Investigations (PSIs), intrusive site investigations with drilling and soil/groundwater monitoring, remediation planning and implementation, validation of remediation successes, and data management with ESdat and Tablogs. Responsibilities include proposal preparation, report writing, and liaising with clients. Requires a bachelor’s degree in environmental science or engineering (or related discipline), 1-3 years of relevant experience, and a current valid driver’s license. Must have legal right to work in Australia. The team supports professional development within a national contaminated land practice and offers opportunities to grow project management skills and contribute to diverse projects across brownfield and renewable contexts.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in environmental science or engineering or a related discipline
- 1-3 years of professional experience undertaking PSIs, field investigations including drilling, soil sampling, groundwater/surface water monitoring, landfill gas/soil vapour monitoring, data management and reporting
- Experience of managing large datasets, with working knowledge of ESdat and Tablogs software
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to research, prepare documentation and draw conclusions to support recommendations for review
- A current/valid unrestricted driver's license
