Job Summary

Manage and support health, safety, and environmental projects, including planning, coordination, execution, and tracking of deliverables to ensure compliance. Conduct on-site inspections to evaluate adherence to federal, state, and local regulations for air, water, waste, and hazardous materials. Review permits, plans, and monitoring data to verify regulatory requirements, while identifying violations and documenting findings through detailed inspection reports. Investigate citizen complaints and spill reports to determine appropriate enforcement or corrective actions, communicating technical guidance to facility representatives. Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders to support enforcement actions and follow-up inspections, maintaining accurate records and databases. Interpret and apply relevant regulations such as the Clean Air Act and RCRA to inspection activities and compliance determinations. Participate in compliance assistance outreach, training sessions, or stakeholder meetings to promote environmental stewardship. This full-time, seconded role in Rancho Cordova, California, is contingent upon maintaining the client contract.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in related sciences
  • 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in supporting environmental projects related to health and safety and environmental compliance
  • Valid U.S. Driver's license
  • US citizenship
  • Candidate must be able to meet medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical exam
  • Must be able to meet medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical exam
  • All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment

Desired Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant experience working on environmental projects related to health and safety and environmental compliance in California
  • Previous experience with research and development laboratories
  • Previous experience working as an environmental consultant
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training with annual 8-hour refresher
