Job Summary
Serve as an environmental and safety resource for facility and subcontractor personnel working in ship repair, ensuring compliance with Federal OSHA, State OSHA, NAVSEA Standard Items, and Maritime regulations across on-board vessels, industrial shops, and dry docks. Investigate and report incidents while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail. Utilize knowledge of OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910 and 1915, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong communication skills to resolve complaints and negotiate effectively. This temp-to-direct hire role involves working as both a prime contractor and subcontractor for government ship repair in San Diego, California.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED certificate or equivalent education and experience
- Ability to work at a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Must possess knowledge of OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910, 1915 and NAVSEA Standard Items
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of proper investigating and reporting of incidents
- Strong communicator
- Ability to resolve complaints and negotiate with others
