Job Summary
Environmental, Safety & Health Technician I serves as the environmental and safety resource for facility and subcontractor personnel across ship repair environments, including on board sea-going vessels, industrial shops, and dry docks, ensuring compliance with Federal OSHA, State OSHA, NAVSEA Standard Items, and Maritime regulations. Requires knowledge of OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910 and 1915, NAVSEA standards, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; may require base access clearance per federal requirements (REAL ID or approved federal ID) and background check. The role supports Bremerton and Everett, WA locations and focuses on incident investigation/reporting, safety program execution, and coordination with shipyard operations to maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED certificate or equivalent education and experience
- Knowledge of OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910, 1915
- Knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Maritime knowledge (preferred)
- Knowledge of investigating and reporting incidents
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to resolve complaints and negotiate
- Eligible to obtain base access clearance (background check; REAL ID-compliant ID)
