Job Summary
Environmental Safeguard Specialist responsible for EIA activities, mitigation measures, EMP development, and compliance reporting across Odisha locations under a 2-year contract with potential extension. The role includes training project staff, maintaining regulatory documentation, monitoring mitigation implementation, and supporting institutional environmental practices across Housing & Urban Development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Environmental Engineering
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience
- Conduct or review Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
- Identify potential environmental risks and mitigation measures
- Prepare Environmental Management Plans (EMP)
- Prepare safeguard reports, audit reports, and compliance documents
- Maintain records for regulatory and funding agencies
- Train project staff on environmental safeguards
- Support institutions in strengthening environmental practices
- Monitor implementation of mitigation measures
