Job Summary
Environmental Credit Risk Associate in JPMorgan Chase's Commercial and Investment Bank Risk Management team. Responsible for reviewing and analyzing environmental reports for real estate lending transactions, performing collateral-asset analysis, obtaining Phase I ESAs, coordinating environmental consultants, and producing review memoranda and analyses to support risk decisions. Supports management with standardized documentation, assists in complex environmental reviews for properties undergoing remediation or acquisitions, and serves as a liaison between Bank personnel and information from environmental reports. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or related field and at least seven years of experience in environmental investigations and risk management, with strong oral/written communication and ability to interact with internal managers, bankers, customers, vendors, and external representatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in environmental sciences or related fields
- At least seven years of experience administering environmental investigations, risk management and loss prevention programs with an environmental consultant, lender or property management firm
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interact with internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to review environmental records and perform analyses
- Familiarity with Phase I ESAs and Phase II investigations
- Experience coordinating environmental consultants and due diligence processes
- Ability to develop standard documentation and checklists
- Experience with environmental risk assessment in real estate lending
