Job Summary
Environmental Risk Assessor (Intermediate) sought to join AECOM’s Canada Remediation team to deliver high-quality human health and ecological risk assessments across remediation projects in Canada. The role involves developing and refining conceptual site models, identifying exposure pathways, applying Canadian and provincial regulatory risk assessment guidance, collaborating with toxicologists, ecologists, biologists, engineers, and project managers, and translating findings into clear technical documentation for internal and external audiences. Responsibilities include project support with scope, schedules, and budgets; preparing reports, figures, tables, and appendices; mentoring junior staff; participating in client and regulator interactions as a technical contributor; and contributing to a collaborative, technically strong team culture. Preferred qualifications include experience leading risk-assessment components, strong technical writing for regulatory submissions, knowledge of Canadian regulatory frameworks, and a drive toward senior or discipline-focused roles. The role emphasizes teamwork, continuous improvement, and delivering defensible, regulator-ready risk assessments to support site remediation and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Toxicology, Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, Ecology, Public Health, or related discipline; Master's is preferred
- Professional designation (or eligibility) in a Canadian province
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant environmental consulting experience including experience conducting complete risk assessments as well as indoor air and soil vapour intrusion assessments
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading components of risk assessments
