Job Summary
Conduct investigations of water-resource related permitting and compliance activities by researching files of record, reviewing applications, and generating correspondence through the District's Water Management Information System. Assist evaluation and compliance engineers with monitoring application and compliance tracking reports, including verification of permit compliance. Make site visits to document status of compliance with Environmental Resource Permits, noting that fieldwork may occur under adverse weather conditions on or around open water, wetlands, or marshes. This role involves up to 8 hours of field work per week and 25 hours total, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, out of the Tampa, FL office.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or other recognized educational or vocational program
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students or minimum GPA of 3.0 for graduate students
- Valid driver's license
- Some travel, using District vehicle, within District's coverage area
