Job Summary
Oversee environmental compliance activities for divisional facilities in West Texas and Southeast New Mexico, including spill response and remediation oversight, SPCC compliance inspections, and waste management support. Conduct regulatory assessments, coordinate agency inspections and audits, and maintain proficiency in applicable federal, state, and local oil and gas regulations. Perform field activities such as sampling environmental media, GPS surveying, and minor maintenance support for compliance programs while promoting environmental awareness through monthly training. Input and trend environmental data to support proactive prevention programs and manage multiple responsibilities against aggressive project deadlines. This role requires recurring outdoor work, inclement weather exposure, and 80% field travel with 20% office time.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of oil & gas experience
- Must have a working knowledge and maintain a proficient knowledge of applicable regulations while conducting regulatory assessments of divisional locations
- Must be comfortable working alone while being fully capable of working within a team and interdisciplinary setting
- Strong organizational and communication skills are essential
- Must be capable of performing on-call duties as necessary
- Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Organized and able to manage multiple concurrent activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy
- Demonstrated abilities with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) as well as other internal programs as necessary
- Ability to foster cooperation and collaboration with diverse multi-disciplinary teams
- Be able to perform job functions independently and able to manage and complete assigned duties with limited supervision
- Must be capable of performing on-call duties as necessary
- Must be able to work outdoors, exposure to inclement weather and frequent travel to the field/facility sites (20% office, 80% field work)
- Infrequent travel to Divisional or Corporate Headquarters may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Related environmental experience preferred
- Experience in earthwork operations or field contractor management preferred
