Environmental Remediation Project Manager

Job Summary
Oversee preparation of work plans and organize project studies to meet scope, schedule, and quality objectives. Interface directly with technical project managers and cross-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on budget, while using prescribed tools to track financial aspects including forecasting, invoicing, and cost control. Lead internal coordination and external client communications, managing progress reporting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within scope, proactively adjusting constraints based on financial analysis. This hybrid role in Albuquerque, New Mexico works directly with Remediation Consulting department managers to advance strategic objectives on major accounts. Strong New Mexico regulatory experience is preferred for permitting and agency interfaces.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 4+ years of relevant environmental remediation experience
- demonstrated equivalency of experience and education
- US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
- Strong New Mexico regulatory experience
- familiarity in permitting, compliance, and agency interfaces
- 15+ years of experience in site investigation and remediation
- 5+ years of project management experience
- Professional certification (e.g., PE/PG, Chartered Engineer/Geologist, PMP)
- Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills
- Track record of successfully managing environmental projects for various client types (public and private)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills
- Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
- Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders
- ability to support client development in the New Mexico market
- attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location
Desired Qualifications
- Strong New Mexico regulatory experience (e.g., NMED programs and regional Southwest regulatory frameworks)
