Job Summary
Monitor reclamation operations and conduct field surveys for soil, vegetation, water, and wildlife data using electronic collection methods. Support reclamation activities by tracking soil salvage, revegetation, and site conditions while performing disturbance mapping and wetland monitoring. Compile environmental data for regulatory reporting and maintain GIS platforms using ArcGIS tools. This safety-sensitive student role involves an 8-month term starting May 2027 with an 8-on/6-off schedule at the Horizon or Albian Oil Sands Site in Fort McMurray.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year undergraduate or master's program in Land Reclamation, Forestry, Environmental, Biology, or Natural Science
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean drivers abstract
- Physically able to handle the rigors of outdoor field work with long days
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in completing reclamation field work
- Previous ATV and/or watercraft experience
- Experience using ArcGIS collectors
- Previous reclamation or oil sands experience
