Job Summary
Oversee environmental monitoring programs, interpret and apply federal/state/local regulations, and ensure compliance while developing and implementing QA systems (QAPPs, SOPs, Quality Management Plans). Prepare technical reports, conduct data validation and Level II reviews, coordinate regulatory reviews, and manage program logistics, budgeting, and stakeholder collaboration. Lead training and technical assistance, supervise field operations, ensure safety protocols, and engage with public water systems and agencies to promote environmental health and compliance. Responsibilities include well siting, septic evaluations, water sampling, and conducting regulatory inspections; require a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and several years of program-management experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strong emphasis on QA practices and data integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, engineering or another program-related field as defined by the department head at recruitment AND four years of professional level experience coordinating, monitoring, administering or managing program or specialized work unit activities
- Two years of experience with Pima County as a Program Coordinator or other related position as determined by the department head at recruitment
