Job Summary

Coordinate technical review of proposed actions by interdisciplinary team members and prepare documentation using the NPS PEPC system for actions requiring evaluation and NEPA documentation, including memos to file, categorical exclusions, and Environmental Assessments. Review and refine project descriptions and scopes of work to ensure inclusion of required mitigation measures, serving as a point of contact for project managers and contractors to assist in ensuring compliance requirements are met. Maintain organized summaries of the compliance program of work for Big Cypress National Preserve in coordination with other staff and Preserve leadership. This role supports the National Park Service's Experienced Services Program, focusing on environmental laws, regulations, and standards such as the Clean Water Act, NEPA, and NHPA.

Required Qualifications

  • MA/MS Degree in Environmental Science, Cultural Resources, or related field
  • minimum additional experience of 5 year(s)
  • Thorough technical knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and standards and how they are applied by various Federal, state, and local authorities
  • Knowledge of Clean Water Act, NEPA, Clean Water Act, cultural resources, NHPA, and experience with NEPA CEs and EAs
  • Experience required with Windows
  • Experience required with MS Word
  • Experience required with MS Excel
  • Experience required with MS Teams
  • Experience required with MS Outlook
  • Experience required with MS SharePoint
  • Experience required with Adobe Acrobat
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment will be used as needed in accordance with task-specific Job Hazards Analyses
