Job Summary
Manage scope, schedule, and budget for site investigations, tank closures, remediation, and well installation projects. Oversee staff to ensure work meets safety and quality standards while preparing technical reports, cost estimates, and proposals. Coordinate work schedules with subcontractors and handle client and regulatory correspondence for NYSDEC, NYSDOT, OGS, and USEPA programs. Requires 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification and experience with Brownfield Cleanup and Spills programs. Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering with 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience. Professional Engineer or Geologist license preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience
- Proven Project Management skills
- Experience with Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and the NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup Program
- Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to work as part of a fast-paced team
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage workload on multiple projects and deliver projects on time
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification and up to date annual refresher
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Private and Municipal Clients
- New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) programs including but not limited to the Brownfield Cleanup Program and Spills program and on environmental containment, permitting and compliance projects
- Experience managing assignments under state-agency contracts (i.e., NYSDEC, New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), the Office of General Services (OGS)), and/or assignments with United State Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) oversight or funding
- Professional Engineer or Geologist License preferred
- MS Office suite experience
