Job Summary
Coordinate environmental compliance, remediation, and company support for operating segments and construction projects by overseeing industrial discharge water, stormwater, and waste programs including TPDES, MSGP, and SWPPP. Lead investigations for permit exceedances, manage Discharge Monitoring Reports, and ensure audit-ready documentation while coordinating contractor and laboratory support. Conduct field inspections at operating assets and construction sites to identify compliance opportunities, collect environmental samples, and initiate permit applications for new assets. Partner with Operations to proactively identify risks and provide regulatory interpretation for state and federal standards. Provide mentoring to new employees and facilitate multiple environmental programs across the asset base.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in environmental, natural science, engineering
- 3 - 5 years related experience in environmental compliance
- Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and standards and their applicability to operations
- Ability to analyze, research, compile, and prepare permit applications, logs, reports, and correspondence and company responses to agency requests
- Ability to evaluate, research, and interpret governmental regulations, equipment performance manuals, regulatory agency guidance and instructions, reports, correspondence, and company policies and procedures
- Ability to pay attention to details
- Ability to apply math, algebraic formulas, and statistics
- Ability to interact, advise and communicate effectively, exchange information/provide instructions, conduct verbal presentations
- Ability to develop communications utilizing fundamental technical writing skills
- Ability to present training materials
- Ability to utilize office equipment including computers and applicable job related software, including Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to operate relevant tools/equipment
- Ability to conduct work in an elevated lift or other elevated locations
- Travel to other locations required
- Driving Based on assigned tasks, employee may be assigned a company vehicle requiring the applicable driver's license
