Environmental & Process Engineer

Job Summary
Lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of the paper mill. Take ownership of water and air systems, coordinate sample collection and EPA reporting, and monitor wastewater operations while providing operator training. Ensure ongoing compliance with all permits, including renewals and spill response plans, and collaborate to resolve issues related to safety, quality, and cost. Oversee raw material usage in stock preparation and serve as Process Engineer for water treatment, optimizing equipment using automation ideas. Fully engage in safety programs, audits, and on-call manager rotation. Bachelor's degree in engineering required with experience in paper manufacturing and environmental systems management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental/chemical/mechanical engineering or science related field
- Experience in paper manufacturing or similar industry
- Experience in managing Environmental Systems and Environmental Report generation
- Troubleshooting skills and ability to develop and administer corrective actions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JDE, and Outlook
- Good communication skills – both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to achieve Continuous Improvement
- Participate in the on-call manager rotation
