Environmental Planner/Scientist - Entry Level

Job Summary

Provide multifaceted subject matter support in regulatory compliance processes for NEPA, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act. Assist in preparing National Environmental Policy Act documents, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements for transportation and infrastructure projects. Conduct and support environmental site assessments, water resources delineations, and biological habitat assessments while performing technical studies and report preparation. Assist with public outreach, proposals, and business development, staying current on regulatory changes and establishing relationships with officials. Participate in client functions, trade shows, and conferences within an interdisciplinary team. Maintain a valid driver's license and demonstrate strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in biological sciences, environmental sciences, transportation planning, environmental planning, geography, GIS or similar discipline/closely related field
  • Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Candidate must provide research and writing examples, as applicable
  • Valid driver's license is required

Desired Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of related consulting or agency experience preferred
  • Competence with ArcGIS and Python programming language
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with the project team and clients
