Job Summary
Environmental O&M Technician role based in Tampa, FL, focusing on operating field monitoring equipment (e.g., PID/FID, pH, EC, DO, GEM, turbidity, water level, LEL meters, Trimble), documenting results, collecting samples, performing environmental testing/evaluation at various locations, and conducting O&M on remediation systems. Responsibilities include handling field data and Chain-of-Custody processes, labeling samples, ensuring proper hazardous material handling and disposal, liaising with Project Managers, ensuring OSHA safety practices, and supporting continuous improvement programs. Requires at least a high school diploma, 2+ years in environmental sampling/monitoring and remediation O&M, regulatory experience with FDEP PRP, a valid Class C license, HAZWOPER certification, ability to lift 50 pounds, and willingness to travel. Familiarity with MS Office and field reporting is expected.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience performing environmental collection, monitoring, sampling, testing and basic evaluation
- 2+ years of experience in the Operation and Maintenance of Remediation systems including but not limited to Advanced Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting
- 2+ years working within the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Petroleum Restoration program (PRP) and FDEP Standard Operating Procedures or a comparable regulatory environment
- Must have a valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability/willingness to travel
- HAZWOPER certification with the 40-hour HAZWOPER environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher classes
- Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds such as monitoring equipment and tools, with or without assistance
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
- Be able to deliver and receive electronic documents
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Solid organization and time/project management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, must have legible handwriting
- Able to work independently
