Environmental Monitor (Pipeline Construction)

Job Summary
Environmental Monitor position based in Dawson Creek, BC, field-based with a 14 days on / 7 days off schedule, responsible for daily environmental inspections on pipeline construction, ensuring compliance with Environmental Protection Plans and permits, protecting watercourses/wildlife habitat, overseeing erosion and spill prevention measures, preparing detailed GPS-enabled inspection reports, and supporting regulatory inspections. Requires post-secondary education in an environmental field, at least 2 years of pipeline/environmental monitoring experience, knowledge of BC/AB regulations, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license with ability to travel to remote locations. Preferred certifications include ESC, H2S Alive, First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, Bear Awareness, and Wildlife Safety Training.
Required Qualifications
- Post-Secondary education in Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resources, or a related field
- 2 years of environmental monitoring experience on pipeline or linear infrastructure projects
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations in BC and/or Alberta
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote locations
