Job Summary
Manage construction projects for landfill cells and sites, including capacity calculations, scheduling, and resource coordination. Maintain financial responsibility for construction, closure, engineering, and cost tracking while preparing Landfill budgets and managing departmental spending. Coordinate permit applications, regulatory interfaces, and responses to inspections and warnings. Supervise Environmental Technicians and Specialists, overseeing hiring, training, performance, and daily operations. Ensure compliance through air and water monitoring, data review, and reporting. Assist with targeted acquisitions, fill sequencing plans, and public relations activities with regulators and investors.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations relating to air, water, solid waste, and material recovery/recycling
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Effective interpersonal communication across various levels of the organization and with external customers, vendors and government agency representatives
- Strong project management skills
- Strong analytical skills and a focus on adding value to the Company
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- 5 years of experience in landfill engineering or environmental compliance in air, water, and solid waste
