Job Summary
Identify safety, health, and environmental hazards inherent in operations and establish protection guidelines. Ensure EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements. Audit safety, health, and environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and local conditions. Monitor periodic performance reports for trends, alert line management to problems, and recommend improvements. Provide leadership and mentoring to personnel engaged in EHS activities at one of the largest foundries in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Previous extensive experience in AIR COMPLIANCE and AIR PERMIT KNOWLEDGE
- Previous extensive experience in DRINKING and WASTE WATER
- Previous extensive experience in HAZARDOUS WASTE REGULATIONS
- Previous experience working in FOUNDRY, OIL AND GAS, or PAPER MILL INDUSTRIES
- Extensive knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies
- Ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards
- Extensive knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds
- Ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations
- Extensive knowledge of collaborative techniques
- Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
- Extensive knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems
- Ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
- Basic knowledge of sustainability strategy
- Ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization to build a sustainable business model
