Job Summary
Environmental Manager leading the Mid-Atlantic Environmental Planning & Permitting team. Responsible for overseeing environmental permitting and utility siting projects for energy and private-sector clients, mentoring junior and mid-level staff, coordinating field activities and data collection, engaging with clients and regulators, and driving high-quality proposals and deliverables. Will manage staff and projects, accelerate through AECOM’s Project Management Certification, foster a strong health & safety culture, and collaborate across offices to win work and deliver on-time, on-budget results. Requires BA/BS (Earth sciences related) with 8+ years and willingness to travel overnight; Master’s degree and 10+ years experience preferred; PMP considered a plus. Hybrid work arrangement available in MD, VA, and DC offices. Relocation and sponsorship are not available.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, Natural resources, Wetlands management, or an earth science-related field + 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- 8+ years of experience managing projects and teams to scope, schedule, and budget
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass MVR
- Master’s degree in relevant field (preferred)
- 10+ years industry experience (preferred) with energy/private sector clients
- Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations
- Knowledge of CWA, ESA, NHPA, NEPA, and related regulations
- Experience in Maryland, Virginia, and surrounding states
- PMP or other project management certification a plus
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
