Job Summary
Inspect regulated facilities including hotels, schools, and swimming pools to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Investigate vector-related complaints, identify mosquito breeding sites, and apply insecticides for control and abatement. Conduct Rapid Analyte Measurement Platform testing for virus surveillance and present educational materials to the public regarding vector prevention. Maintain records, prepare data for reports, and service specialized tools and equipment. Perform duties in extreme outdoor and indoor commercial environments requiring physical stamina and proper safety gear.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certification
- Valid driver license
- Valid AZ driver license
- Valid Pest Control Operator certification in the State of Arizona
- Associate's degree or higher
- Experience interning or working in environmental health
- Bilingual (English, Spanish, Chinese, or other languages)
- Minimum six (6) months experience with Hedgehog Software or other environmental health software
- Physical and sensory abilities to include bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, reaching, squatting, and stooping
- Motion Activity - grasping
- Hearing Activity - behind themselves, equipment alarms
- Speaking Activity - in person, on a phone
- Vision - must be able to operate a motor vehicle, distinguish color, have depth perception, have peripheral vision
- Frequently required to lift, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to wear proper individual safety and protective clothing and equipment
- Ability to work in outdoor extreme climate conditions and indoor commercial environments that are sometimes extremely hot, cold, wet, and unsanitary
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle

- Pre-employment background checks

- Valid driver license is required at time of application

- 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review
- Maintenance of a current Pest Control Operator certification is a condition of employment
- All positions require a valid Pest Control Operator certification in the State of Arizona within one year from the date of appointment
