Environmental Health & Safety Technician III - API Manufacturing

Job Summary
Manage and facilitate collection, labeling, storage, and shipment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams under the direction of an onsite EHS professional. Perform primary compliance inspections for RCRA accumulation areas, waste treatment, and emergency response systems while conducting workplace assessments to mitigate risks. Approve work permits for hot work and confined spaces, investigate accidents, and lead continuous improvement of EHS programs and management systems. Evaluate new chemical and PPE usage, support site projects through Management of Change assessments, and collect data for management reporting. Requires 12-hour shifts with occasional overnight travel and adherence to strict safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a manufacturing industry
- Strong communication & writing skills
- Good skills in root cause analysis for analyzing accidents
- Understanding of cLean principles
- Understanding of cGMP requirements
- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain Hazardous Materials Training (DoT) certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain Hazardous Waste Coordinator (HWC) certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain HAZWOPER certification
- Ability to successfully complete confined space entry training
- Ability to secure a motorized vehicle license & operate a motorized vehicle
Desired Qualifications
