Job Summary
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern supports the EHS team in promoting a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. Responsibilities include assisting with implementing and maintaining EHS policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, participating in workplace safety inspections and hazard identification, tracking and analyzing safety metrics and incident reports, aiding in incident investigations and root cause analysis, supporting training initiatives, maintaining EHS documentation for audits, contributing to continuous improvement through digital processes, assisting with emergency preparedness planning and drills, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to foster a strong safety culture. Learning objectives cover practical EHS practices, regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA), risk assessment, data analysis and reporting, and applying EHS programs in a manufacturing/industrial environment. Key competencies include safety-first mindset, analytical thinking, initiative, teamwork, and effective communication.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Engineering or related field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to read and comprehend complex material, perform basic measurement tasks and mathematical equations
