Job Summary
Develop and implement Environmental Health & Safety policies, procedures, and programs while maintaining updated OSHA and EPA compliance records. Conduct safety and environmental audits, facilitate root cause analysis for incidents, and manage safety incentive programs. Assist in injury, accident, and fire investigations, file Worker's Compensation claims, and coordinate industrial hygiene testing and training. Update plant safety metrics, develop job safety analyses, and serve as second in command to the EHS Manager with on-call duties for night and weekend incidents. Manage environmental programs and document control to ensure alignment with BRC, SQP, and food safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering or technical discipline or related field
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization
- Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers
- Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills
- Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution
- Well-developed leadership and motivational skills with proven ability to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results
- Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines
- Ability to travel (5%)
- Must be team-oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams
- 2+ years of related professional health and safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Environmental experience
