Job Summary
Evaluate chemical and physical hazards to ensure compliance with Cal-OSHA Laboratory Standard and conduct physical inspections of laboratories, fume hoods, gas cylinders, and PPE practices. Review and update policies, procedures, manuals, chemical inventories, SOPs, training documentation, safety data sheets, and inspection/audit findings. Analyze IIP, EAP, chemical hygiene plans, job safety analyses, and spill logs while reviewing vendor contracts and waste manifests. Research and recommend practical solutions for program improvement. Requires a Bachelor's degree in environmental safety, extensive knowledge of Cal OSHA laws, and seven to 10 years of related experience. Complete and signed application required; background check and health clearance necessary.
