Job Summary
Establish and maintain a strong safety culture by collaborating with leadership, developing policies, and producing reports that ensure compliance with legal health and safety guidelines. Conduct routine safety inspections, self-audits, and meetings with local, state, and third-party agencies while analyzing incident metrics to institute corrective actions for accidents and near misses. Manage the Safety Team, identify training needs, and execute company-wide safety improvements alongside emergency response plans. Complete necessary reporting including OSHA 300 logs and oversee project cost controls. This onsite role at the Everett factory requires mobility to perform strenuous daily activities in a production environment, with travel to the Sedro-Woolley facility as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years as a safety representative in manufacturing or construction
- Experience managing a team
- Fluent in the use of Word, Excel, and Outlook
- OSHA 30 certification or higher
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Full range of mobility in upper and lower body
- Able to reach overhead
- Able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting
- Use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
- Reach with hands and arms
- Climb stairs
- Balance for extended periods of time
- Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
- Be able to lift 50 pounds
- Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors
- Physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment
- Travel to the Sedro-Woolley Factory is required, as needed
- Subject to a pre-employment background check
- Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing
- THC testing will occur as part of all drug screens
- Provide complete work history with employer references for last three to five years
- Work in excess of 40 hours per week may be required from time to time
Desired Qualifications
- Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
- Great knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
- Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
- Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good practices
- Develops and maintains project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting records
- Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions for accidents, near misses, and safety concerns
- Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment
- Ability to complete and/or generate spreadsheet reports, Word documents, edit PDF documents, and manage e-mail communication
- Perform routine safety inspections and safety self-audits including overseeing audits for additional facilities
- Facilitate workplace health and safety meetings and inspections with proper local, state and 3rd party agencies
- Propose and execute company wide, safety improvements and initiatives
- Identify trainings needed for the Safety Team members
- Conduct team meetings to discuss safety issues, updates, and action plans
- Motivate and mentor team members to enhance performance
- Complete all necessary reporting (i.e. OSHA 300)
- Facilitate Safety Committee obligations
- Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans and procedures
- Collaborate with leadership team to establish and maintain a strong safety culture at Dogwood
