Environmental Health & Safety Manager

Job Summary
Develop and implement company-wide EHS programs, policies, standards, and procedures across manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers. Establish a proactive safety culture focused on employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement while serving as the subject matter expert on environmental, health, and safety matters for all locations. Lead investigations of workplace injuries, illnesses, and near misses using root cause analysis methodologies to identify trends and implement corrective actions. Monitor safety performance metrics, manage EHS budgets, and prepare performance reports for senior leadership. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations by overseeing permits, inspections, and regulatory agency interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and environmental regulations
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, warehousing, and distribution operations
- Experience with behavior-based safety programs and safety management systems
- Demonstrated expertise in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action management
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and training skills
- Strong analytical and project management abilities
- Ability to influence and collaborate with leaders and employees at all organizational levels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, EHS management systems, and data analytics tools
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, distribution or logistics
- Multisite EHS management experience
- Experience supporting nationwide operations and multiple regulatory jurisdictions
- Proven success in developing and implementing EHS programs across diverse operational environments
- Must be able to communicate verbally, in writing, and through telephonic and electronic means
- Must be able utilize computer hardware and software and mobile technologies
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk
- Must be able to occasionally stand; walk, kneel, crouch
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
- Must be able to walk manufacturing and distribution center floors for extended periods throughout the year
- Must be able to occasionally climb ladders, access elevated work areas and inspect equipment
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or related field preferred
- Preferred Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), OSHA 30-Hour Certification
