Job Summary
Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections covering visual emissions, hazardous waste areas, universal waste zones, and pond monitoring. Collect and analyze liquid and soil samples while tracking waste for quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reporting. Monitor gas temperature, pressure, CO catalyst, and BCl3 scrubber flow rates, and coordinate offsite shipping of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Review and summarize permit regulations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local mandates. Assist the Safety and Security Department as needed and draft recurring reports under the Environmental Manager's direction. This role involves working in an inorganic chemical processing facility, including outdoor duties in all weather conditions and potential exposure to hazardous substances.
Required Qualifications
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field
- Two (2) years of experience performing environmental and compliance related analyses and studies
- Professional level experience that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
- Valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment
- Attend meetings and respond to emergency situations outside of normal working hours
- May occasionally work with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and substances found in an inorganic chemical processing facility
- May occasionally work outside in all weather conditions as routine activities must be performed daily
- Monday – Friday day shift with overtime as needed
