Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Job Summary
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits and inspections while tracking injuries, PPE inventory, and first aid cases to identify safety trends. Perform job hazard analyses, ergonomic task analyses, and system audits to recommend policy improvements and injury reduction efforts. Lead site-level Safety and Waste Minimization teams, train new Safety Committee members, and develop comprehensive safety orientation programs for all operations. Prepare and submit EPA and OSHA regulatory reports including OSHA 300 logs, CAA, CWA, RCRA, and hazardous waste manifests. Manage SDS data and ensure proper identification, labeling, and disposal of plant chemicals and hazardous waste. Complete all required inspections and present documentation to management in accordance with company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial safety or related field preferred or High School Diploma/GED required, AA/AS
- 3-7 years of EHS or job-related experience in manufacturing/automotive industry
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Products
- CPR and First Aid instructor with advanced first aid and trauma training
- Knowledge and understanding of workers compensation
- Ability to lead personnel of varying backgrounds, skillsets, and abilities to handle high stress situations with an absolute degree of calmness and professionalism
- Ability to motivate employees, build relationships, and drive initiatives throughout the facility
- Strong communication skills, including written, oral, listening and presentation/facilitation to both small and large groups
- Knowledge of ISO Certifications
- First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA Certification, CSP, ASP, GSP not required, but preferred
