Environmental Health and Safety Officer

Job Summary
Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments while investigating accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions to identify root causes and corrective actions. Monitor compliance with health and safety and environmental legislation, assist in developing safe systems of work, and deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training programmes. Track corrective and preventative actions to completion, support emergency preparedness planning, and prepare monthly EHS reports and KPI dashboards for management. Maintain all health and safety records, reports, and documentation while promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging employee engagement in safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an EHS role within manufacturing, construction, engineering, logistics, or a similar environment
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Full driving licence
Desired Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- IOSH Membership
- Internal Auditor qualification
- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Knowledge of sustainability and environmental improvement programmes
