Job Summary

Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations by conducting regular audits, inspections, and site visits. Develop and implement safety management programs, including emergency response plans, hazard communication systems, and waste disposal protocols. Lead accident investigations to determine root causes and enforce corrective actions while managing environmental impact assessments. Conduct training sessions and workshops to promote employee awareness and foster a safety-first culture. Compile and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies, tracking performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor to assess risks and integrate sustainability initiatives into operational strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing plant in an EHS management role
  • familiarity with accident investigation and prevention
  • applied ergonomics expertise
  • in-depth understanding of EPA and OSHA regulations
  • A good understanding of root cause analysis for investigation of incidents is essential
  • Certification in EHS (such as OSHA, CSP, CIH, or NEBOSH) is highly preferred
  • In-depth understanding of EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.)
  • Strong experience in gathering requirements, analysis, and documentation
  • Proficient computer skills, especially in applications such as Excel, databases, Word, EHS management software, and web-based systems
  • Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with both internal associates and external customers
  • Proven diagnostic problem solving and the ability to assess risk and implement mitigation strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
  • The EHS Manager will be required to spend a significant amount of time on the manufacturing floor to manage and drive EHS improvement
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Be able to sit for long periods
  • Ability to work late shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Able to lift, push, or pull up to 15lbs
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the US
