Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Job Summary
Lead the plant safety program by overseeing lead compliance, conducting weekly hazardous waste inspections, and performing field audits of personal protective equipment. Manage employee injuries, workers compensation, and the facility-wide housekeeping program while ensuring routine inspections of emergency response equipment. Execute Job Safety Analyses, take noise level readings, and conduct ergonomic assessments to implement corrective measures. Enforce adherence to EHS laws, complete monthly compliance items, and assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis. Maintain environmental documentation, interpret industrial hygiene results, and deliver mandated training programs for hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and confined space entry.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Health Science, Industrial Safety or related field
- Associate's degree with 8-10 years directly related experience
- 3-5 years industrial EHS experience
- Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA/State Regulations
- Knowledge of proper protocol for exposure monitoring
- Proficient with MS Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, and Word)
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Qualified candidates must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb with minimal effort
- Working at the plant is required
Desired Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree preferred in Industrial Hygiene, Health Science, Industrial Safety or related field
- Will also consider Associate's degree with 8-10 years directly related experience
- Prefer 3-5 years industrial EHS experience
