Job Summary
Develop and manage plant-wide safety and environmental policies to ensure compliance with OSHA and federal regulations. Monitor adherence to safety procedures, lead facility inspections to identify risks, and compile accident reports for regulatory submission. Train managers and employees on work site practices including lockout/tagout and chemical handling, while leading investigations into work-related incidents. Act as a resource for safety concerns, maintain safety files and environmental permits, and collaborate with Human Resources to administer workers' compensation programs. Report required OSHA and government-mandated data.
Required Qualifications
- 5-8 years applicable experience in Manufacturing environment
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
- Demonstrated experience generating regulatory reporting
- Experience interpreting and complying with OSHA regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience leading a safety team
- Experience training employees and plant management on proper safety and environmental work practices
- Worker Compensation Certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- OSHA training
- CPR training
- First Aid training
- Bachelor's degree in Safety and Environmental
