Job Summary
Coordinate and implement all areas of the Chewy EHS Program as advised by leadership, serving as the designated shift representative for the Belton, Missouri Fulfillment Center. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits to identify compliance issues, risks, and improvement opportunities, while facilitating incident investigations and maintaining accurate metrics. Train and coach Team Members on observed at-risk behaviors, perform standard of work observations, and lead job hazard and safety analyses for new equipment. Recommend risk mitigation measures including ergonomic considerations and maintain required paperwork to ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and federal/state laws. Work flexible shifts including days, nights, and weekends, with a minimum of one year in an EHS field or relevant degree required.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma
- A minimum of 1 year in an EHS related field OR a bachelor's degree in EHS-relevant field OR 6 months experience performing in a safety-related role within Chewy
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a professional capacity
- Strong communication, collaboration, analysis, judgment, and customer-focus skills
- Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analysis
- Able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving personnel issues
- Ability to develop and implement department objectives and strategies
- Available to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and/or weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in an EHS-relevant field
- Experience leading and coaching a team
- Experience being within or leading a Safety Committee
- Experience in emergency response with active First Aid and CPR certificates
- Experience with Intelex, Avetta, Asana, Smartsheet, Safety Management Systems, Microsoft Office, or other similar workspace software
